Solutions4Seniors Whether you are a late life elder, or have ageing parents, we provide advice on
• The ageing process;
• Going into aged care;
• End-of-life planning.

We have had over 25 years of experience assisting clients with their legal issues and with mediations to resolve disputes. Lyn Lucas initially trained as a mediator 20 years ago. In 2014 she visited the USA to participate in specialised training in Elder Mediation – North America and Canada are way ahead in dealing with ageing issues. Lyn is now one of a handful of Elder Mediators in Australia who

has undergone this specialised training. The training was intensive, and has opened Lyn’s eyes to the shortcomings of some of our ageing systems – and she is motivated to promote change. Lyn has always had an interest in helping ageing clients to keep their affairs in order, to plan for the future – and so keep in control of matters as they age. She realises how vital this planning is as often she is confronted with family problems that are much more difficult to resolve because the initial planning has not been implemented. Lyn now considers herself to be an ageing Australian (over 70), and with experience also in caring for an ageing parent, she understands the many issues involved. We, as Australians, shy away from discussing these issues with our families, and this reluctance to face reality results in families being unprepared to make vital decisions when emergencies arise. How much easier it is, and less stressful, for families who have had “The Conversation” with their parents, and are aware of their wishes at these times, and can take action accordingly. Elder mediation is a wonderful tool to get the family together to discuss their parents’ wishes, and how best they can be met as they age. The older you get the longer it takes to make a career change. Read 'Starting a Career Change after 50'.

If you’re over 50 and out of work, the research suggests it’s a tough road ahead. So perhaps it’s not surprising that many older workers shy away from a career change later in their working life. A combination of age discrimination, lack of opportunities, and the need for a steady pay cheque a...

The new wave of seniorpreneurs is driven, experienced and may even have a few grey hairs. Seniorpreneurs, business owners aged 55 to 64, lead about 34% of Australian firms, according to new research from the Swinburne University of Technology and Queensland University of Technology.

All seniorpreneurs are Millennial coding wizards who spend their days inventing disruptive fintech platforms between ping pong tournaments and lounging about in bean bags in their uber-cool, open plan small business offices. Right? Not so fast. The new wave of seniorpreneurs is driven, experienced a...
