🐛 Watch the full cycle of life return! 🦋✨

When we restore native bushland without the use of synthetic herbicides or toxic chemicals, Nature doesn’t just survive—it thrives at its full potential! 🌿

Take a look at this Native Mulberry (Pipturus argenteus). A few months ago, it was completely covered in hungry Jezebel caterpillars eating almost every leaf. Fast forward, and we witnessed an incredible emergence of vibrant Jezebel butterflies hatching right on site!

🌱 Why Chemical-Free Regeneration Matters:
Soil & Invertebrate Health: Chemical herbicides disrupt soil biology and wipe out beneficial insects. By going 100% organic, we protect crucial invertebrates—the ultimate bio-indicators of a living, healthy ecosystem.

Restoring Natural Cycles: When native plants grow clean, they become host havens for pollinators, caterpillars, birds, and the entire food web.

Real Biodiversity: Bush regeneration isn't just about the plants; it's about bringing the whole ecosystem back to life.

Restoring this balance is what Organic Landcare Inc is all about—letting Nature do what it does best! 💚

🤝 Help Us Keep Our Rivers & Bushland Chemical-Free!
Every tree planted and cared for without chemicals helps restore vital wildlife corridors and protects our waterways from coast to mountains.

🌳 Celebrate National Landcare Week | Aug 3–9, 2026 🌿

This week, we honor the incredible community volunteers, farmers, and First Nations custodians who pour their hearts into restoring our natural landscapes. The theme for 2026 is "Experience Landcare"—a call to action to protect our native bushland, waterways, and local wildlife.

Organic Landcare Inc has already planted over 12k Trees in 2026. Every tree we plant strengthens biodiversity and creates a lasting legacy for future generations. But to keep our boots on the ground and native seedlings going into the soil chemical-free, we need your support.

👉 Donate now to fund our tree planting projects!

🌱 Making a lasting impact, one native seedling at a time. 🌳

This past weekend, all across Australia, we celebrated National Tree Day and Schools Tree Day 2026—our nation’s largest community nature care events. It was inspiring to see schools and the public join the movement, adding their contribution to the over 28 million native trees and plants volunteers have put in the ground since 1996. But the beautiful truth is, you don’t need a specific calendar date to make a difference. ☀️

At Organic Landcare Inc. (OLI) we plant trees almost every day of the year - some at clients’ properties, and some in areas funded by our generous donors.

If you missed out this weekend, you could either volunteer at our working bees or make a tax-deductible donation here:

Every tree we plant today creates a better tomorrow!

Over 11K trees, organically planted. Countless muddy hands. 🌿✨

What an incredible achievement for the 2026 planting season!
Together, we’ve put over 11,000 native trees back into the Earth across the Northern Rivers Riparian Zones!

We covered the Brunswick and Richmond Rivers catchments, including:
Over 4265 trees at Mullumbimby Creek Riparian Zone.
Over 3680 trees in other areas of Brunswick River Riparian Zone.
Over 3060 trees at Richmond River Riparian Zone.

Every single seedling represents a step toward a resilient, naturally restored ecosystem, done entirely the organic way.

A massive impact, location by location. A massive thank you to every volunteer, donor, clients, and dirt-loving legends who showed up, dug deep, and made this vision a reality.

We couldn't do this without you! 🙏 🙌 💚 🌏

organiclandcareinc While so many of us had enough of
the wet season, OLI is celebrating the planting of 10
thousands trees, since January 2026, across two
catchments areas on the Northern Rivers, Brunswick
and Richmond.
At the end of the day a deep feeling of gratitude! As it
takes so many hands to accomplish it. From seed
collection from our local nurseries, to the physical
work of implementing, the finances behind it, them the
caring while the young forest grows!🌻🌧️💚

👂 THE EARWIG HAS NEVER CRAWLED INTO AN EAR IN RECORDED HISTORY.

You see pincers. You panic.
"EARWIG! It'll crawl in my ear while I sleep!"

It won't. It never has. It never will.

THE MYTH:
▸ Name comes from Old English "ēare wicga" (ear insect)
▸ Medieval superstition — earwigs crawl into ears and bore into the brain
▸ There is NO documented medical case of earwigs targeting ears
▸ They're no more likely to enter an ear than any other small insect
▸ They don't want to. There's nothing in your ear they need.

WHAT EARWIGS ACTUALLY DO:
▸ Eat decaying plant material (decomposers)
▸ Eat APHIDS (pest control!)
▸ Eat small caterpillars and mites
▸ Help break down organic matter in compost
▸ They're mostly active at night

THE PINCERS:
▸ Called cerci — used for defense and mating displays
▸ Can pinch you if handled — feels like a weak clip, doesn't break skin
▸ Not venomous. Not dangerous. Just dramatic-looking.

THE GOOD PARENT:
▸ Female earwigs are some of the BEST insect parents
▸ She guards her eggs for weeks
▸ Turns them to prevent mold
▸ Feeds her babies after hatching
▸ One of the very few insects that provides maternal care

IF THEY'RE IN YOUR HOUSE:
✓ They came in seeking moisture (bathrooms, kitchens)
✓ Fix leaks, reduce humidity → they leave
✓ Rolled-up newspaper trap: leave out at night, shake into soapy water in morning
✓ They don't infest — they wander in and want to leave

JULY — ACTIVE SEASON:
Earwigs are out. In your garden. In your mulch.
Doing their job. Eating dead stuff and aphids.

The name is a medieval lie.
The pincers are for show.
She's a better mom than most insects.

Stop screaming. She can hear you.
