Some photographs find you at exactly the right time. 🤍
This week, we prepare to leave our office at 32B Doveton Street, which has been our home for the good part of three or so years. I came across this beautiful photograph of my Pa and Nana standing in our reception. This was the first time they came in.
Pa passed away suddenly last week, and knowing that this will be our last week in this office makes finding this photograph feel even more significant.
There are so many memories within these walls. So much hard work, growth, laughter, challenges and milestones. And now, as we turn the page and move into our new building, I’m reminded that while buildings change, the people and the values behind them are what really matter.
One of the hardest parts is knowing Pa won’t get to walk through the doors of Mair Street, but I know he would have been so proud.
Only recently, I took my Emerging Leader Award into hospital to show Pa. Even in such a difficult time, seeing how proud he was of me meant everything. I will treasure that moment forever.
So as we move forward, I’m going to carry that pride with me.
I take this time to also acknowledge my team. Through one of the most difficult weeks personally, they have continued to show up for each other and our clients. They have rallied around me, picked each other up and reminded me why I’m so proud to be part of this team.
That’s the beautiful thing about a small business. We’re not just colleagues. We genuinely look after one another, and when one of us needs support, we band together.
Goodbye 32B. Thank you for the memories. Oh and Pa — this next chapter is for you, and that’s a promise.
