📣ANOTHER congrats to our Nicola! 👏🏆

Central Coast high jump champion Nicola Olyslagers has won her seventh straight national crown. 🥇

She cleared cleared 1.99m, notching up a season's best, to win from Eleanor Patterson at the Australian Athletics Championships in Homebush yesterday.

The 29-year-old has also been selected for the Commonwealth Games team.

Nicola Olyslagers 🇦🇺 the #1 Female Athlete in Oceania for 2025 based on the World Athletics Rankings.

The Australian soared to new heights in 2025 as World Indoor Champion, World Champion, and setting a new Area Record at 2.04m Nicola was awarded World Athletics Field Athlete of the Year in 2025.

What are the Rankings, how are they calculated?

To compare all the athletes regardless of their events, the World Rankings produce Men's and Women's Overall Rankings. The Overall Rankings are based on the Performance Scores of the athletes at each competition. Result Score + Placing Score = Performance. The best 5 results in the ranking period are then averaged to produce the Overall Ranking Score.

Weeks before the World Athletics Championships, Nicola Olyslagers has put her rivals on notice soaring to 2.04m on her first attempt to win the Diamond League final in Zurich.

Nicola toppled Olympic champion and world record holder Yaroslava Mahuckikh (UKR) who was forced to settle for silver, while Eleanor Patterson placed sixth overall with a jump of 1.91m.
