Many people think estate planning begins and ends with a Will. In reality, a good plan usually involves a few documents working together: a Will (sometimes with one or more trusts), an Enduring Power of Attorney, and sometimes an Advance Health Directive.
Together they help make sure your financial affairs can be managed if you lose capacity, your medical wishes are known and respected, and your estate is handled the way you intended.
Estate planning is really about protecting both your assets and the people you care about. If it has been a while since you looked at yours, it is worth a review.
