🇫🇷 ISPCAN International Congress - Child Protection
I’m proud to have been a contributing author at the 2014 International Society for the Prevention of Child Abuse & Neglect (ISPCAN) International Congress.
Our paper, “Everybody Needs to Know – Potential for Safety: Can Education Reduce Trauma and Harm in the Assessment and Investigation of Unexplained Traumatic Injuries,” explored how education can play a critical role in reducing harm during child protection investigations.
My experience in policing and child protection, together with my role on the board of the Shaken Baby Prevention Project in Sydney, has shaped the way I approach my work as a lawyer. It has given me a deep understanding of the complexities families face and strengthened my ability to provide informed, compassionate, and effective advocacy in child protection matters.
I remain committed to this area of practice, continuing to advocate for children and families navigating the child protection system, and supporting and mentoring parents of children living with brain injuries or trauma.
This work continues to be both important and deeply meaningful to me.
