We are a super proud sponsor of FREE TRADE DAY! This incredible initiative where everyone works together to help our amazing local community, to pitch in for those that need help, fixing up things around the house because they can’t do or afford repairs themselves.
This is such a touching story about Maddie, who is 15 years old and in a wheel chair and she was declined NDIS funding for a ramp. These legends are going to build one for her. So incredible.
Any trades or volunteers that wish to get involved, we encourage you to also give your time for free, for just one day, 6 NOVEMBER 2026 and get onboard (refer links below).
If you know anyone who needs a job done, big or small, this is an opportunity for you to show you care, and nominate them as a recipient for FREE TRADE DAY!
💔THIS IS WHY FREE TRADE DAY EXISTS.
This is a real nomination that has come through for this year’s Free Trade Day — and it’s one we’ve decided we’re going to try to take on.
For privacy, we’ve changed the names and some identifying details in this story. But the circumstances are very real.
Meet “Maddie.”
Maddie is a gorgeous 15-year-old girl who lives on the Central Coast & loves being amongst the action — at home, at school and socially.
But Maddie can no longer walk unassisted and now relies on a wheelchair.
Imagine her family and friends are all out in the backyard. Talking, laughing, having a BBQ, enjoying the sunshine — exactly where any 15-year-old wants to be.
Except Maddie can’t simply wheel through the back door and join them.
To get there, she needs to go out the front door, down a ramp, around the garage, down the side of the house and through a gate she can’t open herself.
None of it is covered.
And if it starts raining? She has to make that whole journey again just to get back inside.
There’s a much simpler solution.
Build Maddie a permanent, fit-for-purpose wheelchair-accessible ramp from the rear family room straight to the patio and garden.
So that’s exactly what we’re going to do. 🖤🔨
Maddie's family has already endured more than most. She and her older sister were largely raised by their incredible mum after losing their dad to cancer several years ago.
Their mum asks for nothing and would do absolutely anything for her girls — but funding a project like this simply isn’t within the family budget, and their request for assistance through the NDIS was declined.
So on November 8, a bunch of kind-hearted local tradies are going to change that.
We’re going to build the ramp.
Not because it’s going to transform a house.
Because it’s going to give a 15-year-old girl the freedom to simply go outside and be with her family.
That’s Free Trade Day.
And this is just one of the real nominations coming through.
If you’re a tradie, supplier or local business and you’ve ever wondered whether giving a few hours of your time can genuinely change somebody’s life — this is your answer.
