Bungendore has been named Australia’s Best Small Tourism Town for 2025. Located just 40 minutes from Canberra, the regional NSW town took out gold at the national awards this morning.

Canberra Region Tourism Industry Council CEO Dr Naomi Dale said with so many extraordinary destinations across Australia, it was a huge achievement for the Canberra region to be recognised on the national stage.

“Bungendore is truly a shining gem within the Canberra region, steeped in history, alive with vibrant food and wine experiences, and surrounded by our world-class cool climate vineyards,” Dr Dale said.

A proud moment for our team—Robert completing his final law school assessment at the Federal Court in Sydney. After years of juggling full-time work, family life, and building our practice from the ground up, this marks a huge milestone. Well done, Robert!

Congratulations to Arun Arunaharan, Rob Wilson, Robert Eastwell, and Rhianne Clar on successfully completing their moot court! ⚖️🎉

Moot court is a cornerstone of legal education at University of New England, AU, providing students with invaluable practical experience in legal advocacy, research, and courtroom procedure. By simulating real-world legal scenarios, students develop critical skills in argumentation, public speaking, and legal reasoning - essential for their future careers.

At , we make moot court a mandatory component of our law program to ensure every student graduates with hands-on experience and the confidence to excel in professional practice. This commitment to experiential learning sets UNE apart from many others in legal education.

Well done to these future legal professionals for their dedication and hard work! 👏

💙 BUNGENDORE'S SECOND FREE MORNING TEA FOR PEOPLE WITH DEMENTIA & CARERS WILL BE HELD IN CONJUNCTION WITH A FREE LEGAL CLINIC 💙

Following a successful morning tea held on 17 February 2025, the Lions Club of Bungendore and Districts and the Bungendore Dementia Friendly Community Alliance are hosting free monthly morning teas on the third Monday of each month at 10:00 AM for people with dementia and their carers. These events provide an opportunity to connect, share experiences, and enjoy a welcoming and supportive environment.

FEJ Law is proud to support those living with dementia and their loved ones by offering a FREE Dementia-Friendly Legal Clinic at this coming Monday’s morning tea.

🔹 When? Monday, 17 March 2025, 10:00 AM
🔹 Where? Bungendore School of Arts
🔹 Who is this for? People living with dementia, their families, carers, and others interested in learning more

At this clinic, Saara Bowen from FEJ Law will be available for one-on-one meetings with those attendees who wish to seek legal assistance. Saara will seek to:

✅ Answer general legal questions related to dementia and elder law
✅ Assist with forms and navigating government services
✅ Provide guidance on wills, enduring powers of attorney, guardianship, and estate planning
✅ Offer general advice on social security law, retirement planning, and other legal matters affecting people with dementia, their carers, or loved ones
✅ Provide warm referrals to additional support services

This first clinic is a trial and a learning experience for us all. Through your participation, we hope to gain first-hand insight into the legal concerns faced by people living with dementia, their carers, and their loved ones. We aim to ensure that legal advice and assistance are provided in a way that is accessible, practical, and truly meets the needs of the community. Rather than relying on assumptions, we want to build this clinic based on your real-world experiences and feedback.

FEJ Law is currently considering holding this free legal clinic monthly. If the morning tea hosted by the Lions Club of Bungendore and Districts and the Bungendore Dementia Friendly Community Alliance proves to be a suitable and effective setting for people living with dementia to seek and receive legal assistance, it is likely we will continue to hold the clinic in conjunction with this event on an ongoing basis.

Your input is invaluable. Whether you attend for legal advice, to ask questions, or simply to share your experiences, your feedback will help shape a legal clinic that truly serves the community.

💡 People from Bungendore and surrounding regions are welcome to attend.

This is a safe, informal, and friendly space to explore the legal questions that matter to you. No need to book—just drop in for a chat while you enjoy your cuppa!

📢 Please share this post to help spread the word, and tag anyone who might benefit—whether they are living with dementia, caring for a loved one, supporting someone affected, or simply looking to learn more about the legal aspects of dementia.
