Be-ware on Halloween this year ! Spooky 💀🦴 is coming. Let's look after our bird 🦜🐦 life too.

Spooky webs might scare trick-or-treaters… but it can be fatal for birds. 🐣

Halloween falls during nesting season, when young chicks are leaving the nest and learning to fly. Artificial spiderwebs draped over bushes, trees, and fences can be used in nest building - or entangle birds sometimes with tragic consequences. 🐦

If we become aware of fake spiderwebs on council land, we’ll contact the owner and ask that they be removed.

Want to keep the spirit of Halloween without harming wildlife? Try sustainable decorations like paper crafts, using existing or natural materials!

🚛 Touch a Truck is moving to Tuesday 15 December 🚛

We’ve made the difficult decision to postpone Touch a Truck, which was due to take place this Thursday 1 October.

With rain and thunderstorms forecast, we want to give families, exhibitors and staff the day they’ve been looking forward to.

We’ve rescheduled this year's Touch a Truck event to Tuesday 15 December.
